FRP Products For Precast Industry
Strength Test of Concrete Rings Reinforced with Steel Mesh vs. BINEVIRÂ FRP Mesh
BINEVIR fberglass composite wire mesh is a unique product, which happens to be perfectly suited for the Precasting Industry. It is produced using FRP wires or rods that are arranged perpendicular to each other and securely fixed at each cross point, which is then reinforced with a high-strength polymer compound to significantly enhance reliability and durability of the mesh. When delivered in a roll, BINEVIR FRP mesh unrolls with ease and immediately lays flat! BINEVIR FRP precast wire mesh is specifically engineered to replace traditional steel mesh (often multiple layers) commonly used for reinforcement in various precast products. We produce custom-cut mesh sheets and mats for concrete tank rings and manhole slab covers (2′ to 12′ OD), blocks and many other precast products, eliminating the need for cutting and bending metal mesh. BINEVIR precast mesh products are 5x lighter than equivalent metal meshes, while being 2x stronger (see the test videos on this page). Our custom manhole cover slab reinforcing meshes are HS-20 rated (report available). Being 5x lighter than their metal mesh counterparts, placement of BINEVIR FRP precast mesh into a form of practically any size is effortless and can be performed faster, easier and with less personnel. When connected into a round insert, our mesh stays perfectly centered in the form between the inner and outer walls with the help of just a few plastic spacers.

Additional Testing of the Precast Components Reinforced with BINEVIR GFRP Mesh
Extraordinary abuse GFRP-reinforced precast components are subjected to in testing, which traditional steel-reinforced precast components are unable to withstand.Â
- 1st Video: It took 6 hard blows to destroy the GFRP ring. Traditional metal-reinforced ring normally fails after 1 or 2 blows.
- 2nd Video: GFRP cover slab could not be destroyed after more than 10 minutes of continuous hard impact.
- 3rd Video: GFRP cover slab could not be cracked at its narrowest point – at the manhole cutout.
